1. Booking & Payment
- All bookings are subject to availability.
- Full payment is NOT required to confirm your booking. But you may EFT in advance to speed up collection.
- A valid South African driver's licence is required to hire a trailer.
2. Driver & Vehicle Verification
To complete your booking, the following information must be provided accurately:
- Driver's full name.
- Driver's licence number.
- Towing vehicle registration number.
- Towing vehicle make and model.
The trailer will only be released to the driver named on the booking unless prior arrangements have been approved by us.
The towing vehicle collecting the trailer must match the vehicle details provided during the booking process. If the vehicle or driver details differ, we reserve the right to refuse the hire until the information has been verified.
Failure or refusal to provide the requested information, or providing false or misleading information, will result in the booking being refused or cancelled without release of the trailer.
3. Collection & Return
- The trailer must be collected and returned at the agreed date and time.
- Late returns may incur additional hire charges.
- The trailer must be returned in the same clean condition in which it was collected, allowing for normal road use.
4. Cancellation Policy
- Bookings may be cancelled free of charge up to the day before the scheduled collection date.
- Cancellations made on the day of collection or after the scheduled collection time may be non-refundable.
- Refunds, where applicable, will be processed using the original payment method.
5. Customer Responsibilities
The hirer agrees to:
- Ensure the towing vehicle is legally permitted and capable of towing the hired trailer.
- Ensure the trailer is correctly coupled and that all safety chains, lights and electrical connections are functioning before driving.
- Operate the trailer safely and in accordance with all South African road traffic laws.
- Not overload the trailer beyond its specified carrying capacity.
- Not use the trailer for illegal activities or purposes for which it was not designed.
6. Damage, Loss & Repairs
The hirer accepts full responsibility for the trailer from the time it is collected until it has been returned and inspected by us.
The hirer will be liable for the cost of repairing or replacing any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, overloading, collisions, reversing incidents, theft due to negligence, or failure to secure the trailer correctly.
Repair costs will include the actual cost of parts, labour and any recovery, transport or towing costs where applicable.
Where damage prevents the trailer from being hired to other customers, the hirer may also be responsible for reasonable loss of rental income for the period the trailer is unavailable.
7. Tyres & Wheels
Tyre and wheel damage caused by punctures, impacts, overloading, kerb strikes or misuse is the responsibility of the hirer. Normal wear and tear is excluded.
8. Accidents & Breakdowns
Any accident, theft or damage must be reported to us immediately or as soon as reasonably possible.
Repairs may not be authorised without our prior approval, except where immediate action is required to ensure safety.
9. Liability
All goods transported are carried entirely at the hirer's own risk.
We are not liable for damage to the towing vehicle, transported goods, delays, loss of income, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the trailer.
10. Right to Refuse Hire
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking where:
- Required driver or vehicle information is not provided.
- The driver's licence cannot be verified.
- The towing vehicle does not match the booking details.
- The towing vehicle is unsuitable or considered unsafe.
- The driver appears impaired or unfit to tow.
- False or misleading information has been supplied.
- We reasonably believe that releasing the trailer would create a safety risk.
11. Acceptance
By completing your booking, you confirm that:
- The information you have provided is accurate and complete.
- You hold a valid driver's licence.
- You have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
- You accept responsibility for the trailer from collection until it has been returned and inspected by us.
12. Reservation of Rights
Drive Thru Trailer Hire reserves all rights in relation to the provision of its services. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel or terminate any booking at our sole discretion where these Terms & Conditions are not complied with, where false or misleading information has been provided, where a safety or legal concern exists, or where releasing a trailer may expose our business, staff or property to unnecessary risk.
We also reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. The Terms & Conditions in force at the time a booking is confirmed will apply to that booking.
All rights reserved. No waiver of any right or provision under these Terms & Conditions shall be deemed a continuing waiver, and any failure by Drive Thru Trailer Hire to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of its right to do so at a later date.
